Do Not Join These 6 Communities
You deserve better.
Some communities promise support, growth, and opportunities.
But what you actually get is noise, distraction, and wasted time.
Does it sound harsh?
Well, it should.
In today’s edition, we’re breaking down the communities you must avoid if you truly want to grow.
Read this, and you’ll save yourself months of frustration.
If you missed our last edition, read it here.
The Wrong Communities Slow You Down
It’s tempting to think every community is good because “at least you’re networking.”
Wrong.
The wrong circles drain your time and give you nothing useful in return.
Here are the types of communities you should never join:
1. Communities Built on Complaints
If the only thing people do is rant about how bad the economy is or how unfair clients are, RUN.
You’ll leave those spaces drained, not motivated.
And the worst part?
The more time you spend there, the more you begin to adopt the same mindset. Instead of finding solutions, you’ll normalize blame and excuses.
Growth doesn’t happen where negativity is the culture.
2. Communities With No Clear Purpose
When you join a group and can’t figure out what it’s for, you’re already wasting time.
A community without structure quickly turns into a random chatroom, memes flying, gossip threads, and no real value.
You don’t need noise, you need focus.
If you can’t clearly define the benefit you’ll gain within the first month of joining, then it’s not worth staying.
As a rule of thumb, we tell our community members, “If you join the Creaitz community, are active and have not been impacted in any way in three months, please leave”.
We also remove inactive people monthly.
3. Communities That Sell You Every Day
If every conversation ends with someone trying to sell you something, that’s not a community, it’s a marketplace.
And here’s the trap: they’ll disguise the constant sales as “opportunities.”
But if the main thing you’re getting is pitches, not knowledge, you’re being treated like a customer, not a member.
A real community should provide value first, not see you as a lead to close.
4. Communities Full of “Experts” with No Proof
Everyone calls themselves a guru these days. Be careful.
If no one can point to real projects, case studies, or actual results, you’re surrounded by talkers, not doers.
Communities like this often recycle the same motivational one-liners you can get for free on social media.
You need to be in spaces where people share practical lessons from what they’ve actually built—not empty theories.
5. Communities Where Nobody Takes Action
Some communities are stuck in endless planning mode.
People talk for hours about what they could do, but you’ll never see updates, projects, or results.
That kind of space keeps you busy but not productive; you’ll feel like you’re learning when really, you’re just looping in circles.
Surround yourself with people who show progress, not people who only talk progress.
6. Communities With Uninvolved Moderators
The quality of a community is often shaped by its leaders.
If admins or moderators don’t respond to questions, don’t provide guidance, or clearly don’t care about member growth, that’s a red flag.
Without strong leadership, discussions drift, conflicts go unresolved, and members lose interest.
A good community has leaders who are present, engaged, and intentional about helping people grow, not just collecting numbers.
Here’s What You Should Do Next
Make a Checklist – Write down what you don’t want in a community.
Audit Your Current Groups – If they fall into any of the 6 traps above, leave.
Join Intentional Spaces – Go where people are focused on real learning, action, and support.
The Better Alternative
Now you’ve seen the communities you shouldn’t join.
But if you’re looking for a community that:
Encourages solutions.
Has a clear purpose and real opportunities.
Give value first before asking for anything.
Connects you with doers, not fake experts.
Celebrates results and accountability.
Has active leaders who care about your growth.
Then you don’t need to look far.
You can find all of these in the Creaitz community, where 2000+ people connect daily to learn, share, and grow in digital skills.
