How to Land Clients- FAST!
Use this for 2025😀.
The best time to start planning for a new year is November (Don’t believe us? Ask Google).
With the new year fast approaching, it’s natural to desire better financial success for yourself.
If landing a job quickly is part of your goals, here’s a guide to help you make it happen.
Take These Steps👇
1. Do Your Homework
Preparation is everything.
Before a call/interview, research your prospective client’s business deeply. Understand their products or services, challenges, and opportunities.
Review their existing strategies and identify ways you can provide value. Draft project ideas and potential strategies to demonstrate your professionalism.
2. Set the Stage for Success
Kick off the call by outlining the purpose and structure.
For example: "Thanks for meeting with me today. Let’s spend 15 minutes discussing your goals, challenges, and how I can help you. Afterwards, we can explore the best next steps. Sound good?"
This approach positions you as a leader while showing respect for their time.
3. Focus on Asking Questions
Skip the hard sell and let your curiosity guide the conversation. Use open-ended questions to uncover their pain points and goals, such as:
What are your top priorities for this year?
What’s been your biggest frustration in achieving those goals?
Have you worked with someone in [your field] before? How did that go?
This makes the conversation about them, not you, and helps you craft a tailored solution.
4. Present Thoughtful Solutions
Once you understand their challenges, provide specific solutions to address them.
Reference your past work to illustrate how you can help, and explain why your approach will deliver results.
5. Establish Yourself as the Go-To Professional
Clients want to work with experts they can trust.
Share examples of your success stories, saying things like:
"I helped [past client] achieve [result], and a similar approach could work well for you."
Offer small, actionable insights during the call to build credibility and prove your expertise.
6. Guide the Path Forward
Don’t leave the next steps up in the air—take the lead.
For instance: "Based on what we’ve discussed, I recommend starting with [specific project] to tackle [challenge]. Does that sound good to you?"
If pricing or scope wasn’t pre-determined, let them know when to expect a detailed proposal. Providing a clear timeline builds trust.
7. Highlight the Value of Investment
Cost concerns are common, but they often stem from clients focusing on expenses instead of results.
Reframe your service as an investment by emphasizing the outcomes.
For example: "This isn’t just a cost—it’s designed to drive [specific result], which will bring measurable value to your business."
8. Keep the Relationship Alive
Not every call will end with a “yes.”
If the timing isn’t right, leave the door open by saying: "I completely understand. Would it be okay if I follow up in a few months to check in on your progress?".
A “no” today could turn into a “yes” later.
